FMP DEVELOPMENT AND FIRST PRINTS

On my way to college, what a beautiful day! I'm excited to show you all how my FMP is coming along...

I have began to take my first design into print. After developing it on CAD and manipulating my motif i'm finally happy enough to draw out my design and experiment in the print room on fabric and wallpaper!

Here are some photographs of what i've been busy with!

FINAL MAJOR PROJECT

The time has come! The biggest project of my degree! i'm so excited with the concept i have chosen (Renascimento Romance) it is a combernation of Italian Renassance themes and the romance of Venice.

I have been busy producing my mood board and began drawing from images and objects i have collected!

Shortly onto development!

Spring Wishing Wallpaper Length!

Printing the final piece for my Minor Project!

I began with a multi coloured background to add depth and texture before adding a layer of cream paint so only glimpses of colour could be seen.

I then began printing my length after lining the screen up to my koda-trace.
I decided to change the colours of various prints to add more variety to my length.

...

...

Once all of my screens had been printed I worked back into my length by adding foiled pieces and acrylic transferred CAD placement prints.

Once this process is complete I intend to draw detail into my length by hand to enhance the print even more. As you can see i have already began on the watering can.

Very excited for the end result!

Print room fun!

Mixing up my colours for printing! Sticking to my pastel colour pallete brief.

I've never used seven screens before so i'm very excited to see the way my colour separations print into my pattern!

First three screens...

five screens...

My first seven colour-way hand screen printed design! I'm really pleased with the way it turned out, i can't wait to start my length!

But first... a little more experimentation!

Foiling and puff binder on handmade paper...

Coordinating final A1 hand painted designs...

complete with foiling on top...

Second coordinated design...
Acrylic paint surface transfer of CAD patterned images.

I really enjoyed using this technique as it gave a much more rustic effect in comparison to getting a complete printed off CAD A1 repeat.

Designs coming together...

After producing a range of layouts I thought I would update you all on how I'm getting along with my latest final designs for Spring Wishing.

Below is the design i'm working on to produce a length.

I'm drawing various sections in different coloured pens to distinguish the colour-ways for my final print to transfer onto koda-traces.

Slowly but surely...

After completeing my colour seperations i have decided on making a printed pattern with six colour-ways.

I'm in the process of coating and exposing my screens to print with! Very exciting!!!

I can't wait to get in that print room!
